    Description

    This sargent appears to be black, he is displayed in a rarer patriotic case ,a 1/9 GEORGE WASHINGTON case. The soldier is dressed in his complete uniform with his kepi, and the three stripes making him a sergeant. Very few blacks were raised above the rank of sergeant, many of these soldiers were sent at the end of the war, out West to become buffalo soldiers.
