You are bidding on this great unique and original carte de visite image of Major Clinton H. Meneely who served with the 7th New York Cavlary and was an ADC to General James Wadsworth.  Wikipedia contains an image of Wadsworth and his staff and Meneely is seated directly next to Wadsworth.  Clinton also continued the family business of manufacturing bells in 1870.  Quite an interesting man and worth of more research.  This image shows Brevet Colonel Maneely, after his promotion in March, 1865.  Image identified by Roger Hunt and additional image Clinton Meneely can be located online through the Meneely Bell Company history.  Photo by Gutekunst of Philadelphia.
